A Message from the Chair of the Department of Classical and Near Eastern Archaeology

Dear Students,

I am delighted to know that you are interested in our department! We have created a brochure (click here to access the PDF) so that it is easy for you to explore academic pathways through the major and minor in Classical and Near Eastern Archaeology and review our major and minor requirements. It also contains information on archaeological experiences beyond the classroom that may enrich your major experience, including summer learning experiences in museums and in the field. A list of our faculty and staff and their profiles can be found here.

For questions about the major or minor, or to declare and complete a workplan, please contact our Undergraduate Advisors for 2024-2025: Professor Rocco Palermo (last names A-K) and Professor Wu Xin (last names K-Z). You can also reach out to the 2024-2025 Department Co-Chairs: Professor Jennie Bradbury and Professor Astrid Lindenlauf (on leave 2024-2025). We would be happy to introduce you to current archaeology majors, if you would like to learn more about their experience in our department.
