The offers college students a $2,000 stipend for a semester-long leadership training and internship program. Grounded in Quaker history and values, the Fellowship teaches core leadership principles while students work on self-directed projects related to peace and social justice concerns. The name is inspired by Benjamin Lay, an early local abolitionist who was known to many by his nickname, “the Quaker Comet.” The program has been made possible through a grant from the Shoemaker Fund. 

The Social Justice Initiative has been working with the Radnor Quaker Meeting to support this program through thought partnership on the leadership curriculum, direct support of Fellows as they develop their projects, liaising with many local Quaker Meetings, and conducting outreach to raise awareness of the program.
