Student Opportunity: Be a Part of Sister Sylvester's Brecht Forensics!

December 16, 2019
""

Sister Sylvester and the Bryn Mawr College Performing Arts Series are seeking students to participate in a week-long workshop/think tank around Brecht Forensics, performing at the Hepburn Teaching Theater, Friday, Jan. 31, and Saturday, Feb. 1, 2020.

Brecht Forensics is based on the DNA from a hat that was a part of Bertolt Brecht’s Berliner Ensemble, and which has not been washed since 1949. Through DNA sequences, archival research, and fictional forensics, the performance investigates the stories of the different people who have worn the hat. As we follow the stories of these individuals, we consider current developments in bio-tech, histories of eugenics and fascism, and the possibilities for hybrid, cross-species futures.

Sister Sylvester are looking for scientists, artists, musicians, actors, videographers, home chefs, and other interested parties to spend a week developing this material.

No performance experience required! Please fill out (or go to ).
