To allow for safe, physically distanced events, Bryn Mawr is holding two commencement ceremonies for 2021. Â鶹AV degrees will be awarded Friday, May 28, at 5 p.m., and undergraduate degrees will be awarded Saturday, May 29, at 2 p.m.
Addressing the undergraduate class of 2021 will be leadership expert Linda A. Hill ’77. Philadelphia Poet Laureate Trapeta B. Mayson, M.S.S. ’95, will give the commencement speech to the graduate degree recipients.
“Commencement is a time for students, their families, and friends to celebrate the accomplishments of the last four years,” says Bryn Mawr President Kim Cassidy. “This year’s graduates have done so much and overcome so much. While we will miss those students who will not be able to take part in the ceremony due to the pandemic, we will celebrate all of those who are earning their degrees, no matter where they have spent the past year.
“Commencement is also a time to look forward and to imagine all that is possible. It is an honor to welcome back to campus such accomplished alums as Linda Hill and Trapeta Mayson. Not only are they both incredible speakers, they are also wonderful examples of the lives of purpose that await our graduates.”
Linda A. Hill ’77, who majored in psychology at Bryn Mawr, is the Wallace Brett Donham Professor of Business Administration at the Harvard Business School and chair of its Leadership Initiative. She is regarded as one of the world’s top experts on leadership.
