Key Bryn Mawr Experiences:
At Bryn Mawr I participated in a Dungeons and Dragons group, served as President of Denbigh from Fall 2019 to Spring 2020, studied right-wing extremism, and was an active member of the Intervarsity Christian Fellowship and the Newman Catholic Fellowship.
Hometown: New York City
Post-graduation plans: Starting in June, Iāll be working as a teacher-in-training as part of the Urban Teachers Fellowship, based in the Baltimore public school system. As part of the Fellowship program, Iāll also be pursuing my masters at the Johns Hopkins School of Education.
Thoughts on my Bryn Mawr Experience:
Bryn Mawr is a place I found acceptance and a sense of community. I loved the traditions, the professors, and the people who surrounded me. I admit to feeling a great deal of grief over the disruption of our Senior Year, but I know that Iāll always be connected with the incredible Bryn Mawr community. Thank you for having me. I love you all.
Advice for the Classes of 2020 and 2024:
Even in normal times, the transition out of college is pretty difficult. For those of us in the Class of 2020, that transition was very dramatic and upsetting. Navigating the pandemic, sheltering in place, and adapting to an online academic process has been quite difficult, and yet there are good lessons in the experience. We are all much more resilient than we realized. Stay open to finding your support network -- it comes in surprising places. Donāt get too attached to the ānormalā that existed before the pandemic. A new normal will emerge and it might even be better than the old one. Donāt let your anger weigh you down. Let it mobilize you. Donāt numb yourself to the grief of the moment. Let it bring you closer to your family and your neighbors. The world isnāt going to stop turning just because of this, and most importantly, the people of Bryn Mawr will always be there for you and for each other.
Members of the Class of 2020, we want to hear from you! Drop us a note at news@brynmawr.edu. Include a photo of yourself and let us know what you have planned for life after Bryn Mawr, who you'd like to thank, words of wisdom, or whatever else you'd like to say. We'll be sharing selected profiles on the College's website and social media channels over the next few weeks.
