Monday, Feb. 25, 3:30-4:30PM, Campus Center Foyer
The new smoke-free task force will be tabling in the Campus Center Foyer and have letters ready to sign and send to the FDA, encouraging them to ban menthol cigarettes. Tobacco companies specifically target African-American communities with menthol cigarettes. This type of flavored cigarette are easier to start and harder to quit, and they appeal to a younger audience. In observance of Black History Month, we are urging the commissioner of the FDA to ban menthol-flavored cigarettes.
