“I want my photographs to have an emotional impact,” says Ada Luisa Trillo, a Philadelphia-based photographer who made the more than 2,000-mile trek from Tapachula to Tijuana with the widely publicized caravan of migrants hoping to enter the United States near the end of last year. Her photographs, many of which focus on children, are visceral and demonstrate the urgency she feels on behalf of her subjects.
