The Weeping Higan Cherry Tree (Prunus subhirtella 'Pendula') grows to be 20 to 30 feet tall and spreads 15 to 25 feet. Its leaves are green throughout the summer and into the fall the leaves turn from green to a bright yellow before leaving the tree bare in the winter. In the spring, there is nothing like a full bloomed Weeping Higan Cherry—its leaves are light pink, almost white. This tree is the class tree of Classes of 1936 and 1937.
